Year 3 ‘expo’ with chef Nick!

On Wednesday 7th March, Year 3 were lucky enough to have Nick the Chef in school to teach us all about what kinds of foods the Ancient Mayans ate. We chopped, sliced and cooked a wide variety of ingredients to make a tortilla stew in Year 3 Rowan and vegetable chilli for Year Elm. The food was delicious!

Year 3 take a trip along a ‘watery’ path!

Yesterday, Year 3 enjoyed their much awaited and anticipated trip to Path Head Water Mill, Blaydon! Martin Luther King Day and UNCRC ‘Rights Respecting’ assembly!

This week, Mrs Tetley led us in a ‘Rights Respecting’ assembly to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King – who fought for the rights of African Americans in the 1960’s. This¬†assembly focused upon the United Nations Convention on the Rights of The Child: Article 1 (Everyone under the age of 18 has all the rights in the Convention) and Article 2 (The Convention on the Rights of the Child applies to everyone without exception and Governments should take all measures to ensure that children are protected against all forms of discrimination.)
