Welcome to Year 2!
Miss Sergison and Miss Jackson are our Year 2 teachers and they are supported by Mrs Walton and Mrs Wheatley. Miss Jackson teaches Year 2 Elder and Miss Sergison teaches Year 2 Poplar.

In year 2 we have been learning about how to keep our bodies healthy. This week we had a special visit from Nick – a healthy food chef who taught us how to make a tasty chilli and pasta bolognese from scratch! We learnt about making healthy food choices and how important it is to be safe and tidy when cooking and handling raw foods.read more
This week, we held our second school parliamentary meeting of this academic year. We discussed a range of issues raised by our elected class MP’s (on behalf of pupil’s throughout KS2) and also welcomed a visit from Mrs Tetley – who wanted to share some exciting plans and possible developments with us all!

Today, our school was incredibly proud to have a visit from Olympic British volleyball player Peter Bakare – who led our whole school on a sponsored fitness circuit session. In their literacy lessons this week, Year 2 have been writing non-chronological reports – about a monster, which they discovered has been secretly living in the outdoor learning area’s of our school!read more

Last week, as part of their ‘Explorer’ topic, Year 2 visited the ‘Great North Museum’ in Newcastle – where they ‘explored’ different animal habitats and time periods.read more
