On Monday 19th February 2018, Year 6 were lucky enough to have Beamish brought into our classrooms!

Hannah and Bill from ‘Queen’s of Machines’ workshop, at Beamish Museum, came in to give us lots of information about how ‘The Great War’ changed many stereotypes for women (for a short while) and how this affected change for women now in the UK.

We were really lucky to be able to complete role play exercises, dress up in clothing from World War 1 and look at artefacts from 1914. Bill and Hannah thoroughly enjoyed working with us and commented on the excellent behaviour of the children. We can’t wait to attend Beamish on the 2nd of March!

Well done Year 6!
