This week, we welcomed back Andrew Mckeown, who is currently creating designs for the Land of Oak and Iron. He needed our help to create some designs which will go on display outside of the Heritage Centre.

Some of us were lucky enough to have an opportunity with Andrew, to design our own structure made from liquid iron…
After creating our ‘nail’ in a sand block, we chiseled away at our designs – in order to be able to put the liquid iron into them. We then had to file the edges using a special machine.
We had a really enjoyable time with Andrew’s workshop and can’t wait to see which designs he selects to display outside the Land of Oak and Iron Heritage Centre!
